Basic safety requirements for mechanical equipment

Different machines, especially professional machines, have their own special safety requirements. Only the basic safety requirements of mechanical equipment are introduced here, including:

(1) the layout of mechanical equipment shall be reasonable, which shall be convenient for operators to load and unload workpieces, process, observe and remove sundries; meanwhile, it shall also be convenient for maintenance personnel to inspect and maintain.

(2) the strength and rigidity of parts and components of mechanical equipment shall meet the safety requirements, and the installation shall be firm.

(3) according to relevant safety requirements, mechanical equipment must be equipped with reasonable and reliable safety devices that do not affect operation. For example:

①safety protection devices such as protective shield, protective baffle and protective railings shall be installed for parts and components that rotate.

②safety devices, such as overload limiter, travel limiter, safety valve, temperature relay, time breaker, etc., shall be installed for the parts and components that may cause accidents in case of overpressure, overload, overtemperature, overtravel.

③when people need to be warned or reminded, signal devices or warning signs shall be installed. Such as bell, horn, buzzer and other sound signals, various light signals, or various warning signs.

④for some parts whose action sequence cannot be reversed, interlocking device shall be installed. A certain action can only be performed after the completion of the previous action, otherwise it is impossible to do it.
